Launch Attempt and Technical Hiccups

Technical Challenges

During the Starship launch attempt, the company faced a problem with starting the main engines. This stage involves 33 Raptor engines, which provide the power needed for takeoff. Once the engines started, a malfunction was detected, leading to an automatic shutdown of the launch.

Following the incident, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, announced that solving the issue requires replacing two engines before the next launch attempt, expected early next week.

New Flight Goals

The thirteenth flight of Starship aims to achieve several milestones, including sending 20 new Starlink satellites into orbit. These satellites are part of SpaceX’s ambitious plan to create a vast space-based internet network, consisting of 100,000 satellites.

Additionally, some of these satellites will be equipped with cameras to capture images of the rocket’s heat shield during the flight, an important step in assessing the rocket’s performance under harsh conditions.

Previous Challenges and Achievements

In the previous flight, despite its relative success, Starship encountered some challenges. For instance, the rocket’s first stage failed to land and control its descent into the Gulf of Mexico as planned, and it couldn’t restart one of its engines in space.

However, the rocket’s second stage successfully returned to Earth, marking a positive step toward achieving future goals.
