Despite these theoretical solutions, some scientists, like Stephen Hawking, have reservations about the possibility of time travel. In 1992, Hawking proposed the chronology protection conjecture, which suggests that physical laws prevent large objects from traveling back in time, keeping the universe safe from major historical changes.

To illustrate his point, Hawking famously held a time traveler party, but no one showed up, which he took as evidence against the possibility of traveling to the past.
