SpaceX continues to break barriers in the realm of space exploration, recently launching 24 new satellites as part of the Starlink project into low Earth orbit. A New Journey into Space

On Sunday, June 28, a Falcon 9 rocket launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, carrying the new batch of satellites. The launch occurred at 12:09 PM Eastern Time, and was part of mission batch (17-40).

Just nine minutes after liftoff, the satellites reached their designated orbit, and about an hour later, deployment began thanks to the upper stage of the Falcon 9 rocket. This highlights the precision and effectiveness of the technology used, ensuring the success of these complex operations.

A History of Success

The first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket, known as Booster 1088, successfully completed its seventeenth flight. It safely landed on the autonomous drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” in the Pacific Ocean, showcasing SpaceX’s success in rocket reusability technologies.

Historically, this stage has been used in several notable missions, including NROL-126, Transporter-12, and SPHEREx, as well as 12 missions within the Starlink project.

A Global Internet Network

With the addition of these new satellites, the number of active satellites in the Starlink network has risen to over 10,700. This network provides internet service to users in various regions around the world, including in-flight Wi-Fi services and satellite-to-phone connectivity.
